It was overall underwhelming. If you had high expectations then they were shot down. This rendition of Mulan was not my cup of tea. Maybe it would have a great movie if I had never seen the first Mulan. With none of the regular songs, no Mushu, no Li Shang, no grandma, no ancestors, nor the advisor to the emperor, the movie was not what it should have been. Now I know that the original Mulan was made 22 years ago, but this Mulan should have had the same concept. Meaning that it should be able to make a little girl or boy feel like they can truly be themselves. To be able to stick up for yourself, when no one believes in you. The only good part of this movie is that the original voice actress of Mulan makes a cameo in the end.
