What makes this wrap-up movie perfect is its imperfections. Gay life has always been portrayed as a bit more on the dramatic side, simply because of the unusual sexual preference but they are also humans and no different than others. That has alwasy been the theme of the short-lived series. And it continues and ends with this movie.

A bit of a spoiler, we were kinda fooled by Patrick's goody nice guy attitude for 2 seasons and Kevin exposed everything in this movie. It's confirmed, he's an anti-hero. A human. A normal person. I was Team Kevin the whole time and watching this movie made me hate the show. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone having affairs but I just always thought that their love was THE love, if Patrick just tried. But now? After watching the whole series and this movie for the nth time, it suddenly made sense. I wasn't clouded by the Kevin-Patrick loveteam anymore and I suddenly saw this imperfect Patrick just trying to live with his own expectations of himself and move past thru all the mistakes he made and about to make. And it was me. I am a Patrick. We are all Patricks. Kevin is our TOTGA (The One That Got Away). And Richie is the love of our life or soulmate or best friend.
*sigh*
Looking is that sober gay friend you always ignore but is always there to support you and keep you grounded.
