This album is definitely a low for Imagine Dragons.
Most songs sound artificial and forced, and the constant pounding beats of the songs can bring any headphone listener to a migraine. The new direction of Pop is also alienating the fans of those who listen to their previous albums, namely Night Visions and Smoke + Mirrors, though also Evolve to a certain extent, just for the radio.
Songs sound unfinished and rushed, and the titles of some songs confusing to their narrative (for example, Only; what is someone supposed to understand from that?).
I used to be a die-hard Imagine Dragons fan a few years back, but somehow this album made me stop listening to them, until recently when I started to re-explore what I have listened to.
Somehow, the band that got me into playing guitar doesn't use much of it now, or at least I can't hear it in most songs.
