I have watched other Turkish soap operas, "Seyit & Sura", "Winter Sun" and "Black Money Love" and have enjoyed them immensely. The writing was extraordinary. However, "Burned Cocoon" is completely different. I am currently on episode 82 and am shocked at the violence and abuse toward women that is portrayed on this show. My friend, who introduced me to Turkish drama and is married to a Turk, stopped watching "Burned Cocoon" after the second episode. She told me that nothing good or happy is going to happen on this show. She was right - there are no happy moments for this family, just major problems piling up one on top of the other. At this point, I will keep watching it until the end out of curiosity, but I would not recommend it as a good show, or even a good example of Turkish drama.
