Great show but --- careful, Trevor and Roy. Diplomats should never be made the butt of jokes. After 16 years in the Foreign Service (which was not long compared to most career diplomats) I can tell you that the diplomats are at the front line of resolving conflicts before they turn "kinetic." In diplo-speak, not sending a representative to the Olympics means that we do not consider China to be a fair player on the stage of nations. Consequences of that small but significant first step depends on what China does next. If nobody gives the minority groups of China a voice, the Uyghurs will be annhilated, like the Tibetans and others. Trevor should invite the head of the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) on the show to explain what we do every day.
