The artwork is different, yet still beautiful. What bugs me is the absolute lack of heart.
The story revolves around, Earwig, the daughter of a witch, that grows up in an orphanage. Earwig has learned how to manipulate people to do as she wants, and isn't afraid to tell the audience this repeatedly. The story follows her as she is fostered by a witch and mandrake who she also learns to manipulate. Just as the story starts getting good, it ends. There is zero character arch for Earwig.
