As someone who is not a fan of most silent films, this one stands out. The minimal use of title cards allows for a viewing experience that trusts the audience to understand the story mostly through visuals. The cinematography and effects are a sight to behold, especially considering the time period in which this was made. The story is simple and timeless, going so far as to not explicitly name the characters. What allows this film to transcend others is a perfect blend of great, silent acting with genius filmmaking. This movie has a lot going for it. If clever writing doesn't tickle your fancy then creative and beautiful shots should do it for you. While there have been countless murder mysteries, this one simply does it better. Knives Out gives the audience critical information early on, breaking the mold that results in a big reveal of who actually did it. This choice leads the audience to second guess both the movie and themselves. Each member of the cast was stellar. Daniel Craig with his southern accent was a blast to watch. Ana de Armas was so fun to have be the character that the audience gets to follow. Overall Knives Out is an extremely satisfying and enjoyable movie. I'm sure there are flaws but after my first viewing I had trouble finding any major ones. 5/5

As someone who loves The Shining, I went into this movie with average expectations. I can safely and surely say that it blew those expectations away, and then some. If you liked The Shining, you will like this film. The actors and actress' were all really great, including the child actors. I would give it a 9.5/10, so lets just round up to 5/5 :)

Such an interesting and weird show. You never want to look away, even if you are disturbed or confused morally, you're entranced.

At utterly terrifying movie that will leave you thinking for days after your first viewing. The world created in this film is one that the audience is not walked through, but harshly shoved into.

One of the most captivating movies of the year, especially considering how slow it may seem at times. If you enjoy films in the slightest, watch this movie.
