Most Jews that write books about their history are apologists. In other words, they read the OT literally and then write about it. Except the OT is not true history but only fabrications centuries later. Not sure about this book as its been a while since I've read it. However, I highly recommend "Radical Judaism".

A very important book for everybody to read since it is about intolerance and power out of one of the most corrupted institutions in history--the Catholic Church.

Alot of McCannon's theories of Jesus in Egypt are valid, however her grasp of the ancient mystery religions is 1st rate!

This is an incredible book with no-nonsense facts that I wasn't aware of. It's written in the same style as our world's best historian Durant. In 3 volumes too!

I haven't read the whole thing yet but O'Grady has a good grasp of the Jews around Herod's time.

INCREDIBLE BOOK! A must read for any Bible reader!

I need to read this book more but Vermes is one important guy as he was an early translator of the Scrolls and an archeologist.

This book is concentrated so it will take a while to read but once that's out of the way this was the book that got me started on the historical view of Christianity rather than the NT view.

This book is collected essays I have to give this 5 stars even though I read it 10 yrs ago it's concepts still stay with me.
