It is all a long time ago now, but the period remains alive on the screen in Alan Parker’s film and is sadly still echoed in this third decade of the 21st century. When an unarmed 46-year-old African American is killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota by white police officer Derek Michael Chauvin, we are reminded of the underlying tensions that continue to rumble on in American society.

As somebody with his own struggles with childhood trauma and mental illness I felt 'Joker' had a lot to relate to. Also, 🃏 is great enough to be one of the most representative films of, at least, this decade. Quite refreshing on its genre and deep enough to get you interested but Todd Philips' origin of supervillain is judged on ridiculously high standards. It did something new with comic book characters, I think it’s pretty impressive. The people who disliked this film are profoundly insufferable.
