Rajdeep Kundu – Google

Played this after about one and a half years of launch. The negetive reviews and comparisons kept me from buying the game initially. Epic gave it away for free one week so I thought let's give that a try... The gameplay mechanics and physics are improved from the last title. The baloons, boosters, retractors are very fun to play with. I have some mixed feelings about the graphics...mostly positive though. The amount of plants and grass that interact with Rico's movement has been reduced but it is done to keep the frame rate solid when rendering dense forests and grasslands so that's ok. Flying around with the wingsuit and seeing the world from above is so satisfying. The water details are noticeably worse than 3 and even 2 tho... That disappointed me. They fixed the bad looking waterfalls and added ocean tessellation but it still looks bad when inspected from lower angles. The game is well optimized I will say. I have a GTX 1060 and it gives me solid 60 frames per second at 1080p, all the graphics set to maximum. Unlike other games, heavy vegetation and massive explotions don't create framedrops and stutters (atleast in my case). The gpu and cpu temperatures don't rise much. The world itself is better than the last title, the four individual biomes, the places where they meet...are very well built. The cities could have been a lot better...they are just bland, like someone built some random skyscrapers in the middle of the forest! JC2 had far better city structures than this one. The fact you don't need to destroy every enemy property anymore, makes me sad. But it also makes sense...like you're taking over a place packed with high end radars, dishes, fuel tanks...why would you destroy them! But it is fun to do so...glad I still can if I want to! The story is depressing. The characters are forgettable. Definitely not the selling point of the game. It's not bad, but it's not very memorable either. It's the fun you do while messing around the map and do things with your gadgets you remember. It's great pass time. Overall, I'll say it's a decent title. The second best in the series imo(Just Cause 2 is my personal favourite).
