I cannot understand all the negative reviews for this one, I absolutely loved it. It appears to take place at the end of the first one and introduces elements on par with it. I enjoyed it much more than any of the other sequels, and hope fans of the series will ignore the bad reviews and see it for themselves in the theatre while they still can.

Definitely get out to see this one in the theatre. Excellent movie!

I was disappointed with this movie, by the last hour I was waiting for it to end, seemed to noticeably go downhill after DeNiro’s character had to finally choose a side (the scene where it really should have ended) and then watch each of the remaining characters waste away to nothing. There weren’t any ‘likeable’ characters to route for, spare Hoffa, and you knew he was going to meet a bitter end. The special effects used to age the characters was impressive but could not carry the movie by itself any better than De Niro could. Ray Liotta would have been a better choice for the main part as he’s a lot more animated and could have passed for someone with Irish blood, however, DeNiro looked as Italian as anyone else spare the fake blue eyes, which looked strange. Al Pacino was entertaining as usual playing Hoffa. This one only deserves about 2 stars max. I enjoyed Goodfellas much more.
