This movie had so much potential but completely missed the mark. It started off really strong but went down hill after the first 10 - 15 minutes. So many things didn't make sense or weren't properly explained. The acting and sfx were great but the story was a mess, the pacing wasn't consistent and some of the dialogue was embarrassing. This was a bad horror film trying really hard to be an indie cult classic.

For a movie that's 3 hours long there's not a lot actually happens. I actually found it to be a little boring. There was a lot of dialogue and certain scenes that I thought were unnecessary. I wish more time was spent on developing the characters, relationships, motives and connection to the corruption. The acting was great but the movie wasn't my cup tea. As a huge fan of the Dark Knight trilogy this one was disappointing.

As someone who really enjoyed the book I found the series to be disappointing. I struggled to get through the first 20 minutes of episode 1. It was very clichè from start to finish and reminded me of Riverdale or 13 reasons why...not in a good way. The characters barely resembled those of the book and the story just wasn't good. The series added scenes and dialogue that wasn't originally part of the book, which would be fine if these additions actually added anything to the story. Perhaps if you haven't read the book you'll enjoy the show. Or, if they had followed the book a little more closely 🤷🏽‍♀️
