Wait...did I read someone comparing this to Hitchcock? Maybe if this were made in the 60s. Yes, I enjoyed it despite its being filled with what is now expected from characters you’ve seen before. But Steve McQueen’s nuanced direction and superb performances by Viola Davis and Daniel Kaluuya infuse fresh air into the cliched screenplay.
