I can look past the older actors but it was a struggle for others. I did not want a story about psycho child man and his family. I realize it brings more depth to Jesse’s story but it felt forced. Same as some of the western shoot out scenes. I liked the ending for Jesse. I was surprised at the lack of Walter’s character in the flashbacks. I didn’t need a sea of cameos but I would have guessed there was more reflection on Walter because he brought him and kept him in this world.

If you need action, this is not the film. It was fine. The acting was good. The poetry ranged from great to tolerable. I felt anger towards the flightiness of the main female character and the repressed frustration from the main male character. This improved my rating. Otherwise it would have felt too stoic and pretentious for 3 stars.

Very unique. It kept my attention until the end. Several fill in the blank moments. I am glad we rented but not disappointed we watched it.
