AotD is a zombie action, survival movie directed by the one and only Zach Snyder. You'd think he'd make a masterpiece out of this movie but he didn't...well...sort of. Instead he made up for the lack of a strong story and character development with great visuals and almost flawless sound design. The hero was a cookie cutter version of the emotionally complex individual who is trying to make up with their loved one because of something that happened in the past. Not bad cast choice as I loved most of them equally but these characters were on the screen long enough for you to know their intentions but fell short of creating any sort of connection as they were fast tracked to their gruesome deaths. The gore was really what I came for. I'm a sucker for anything gore from the likes of the Doom game series and new TV shows like invincible. It's one thing to show gore and another to achieve an almost real gore with the current technology at your disposal. It's technically challenging but I think this movie did it well enough with its cliché seas of blood gushing out of a dismembered individual. Not good, but good at the same time. The sound design and visuals were unparalleled. It made up for its lacking story in these departments. The thing about Snyder is he makes a movie that have memorable shots rather than having much story. It's visual porn as it is pleasing to see moments of intensity thanks to a well placed wide angle shot of the characters struggling with no hope. A commendable part was the creativity of the opening scene where characters were posing like as if for a photo with a full background canvas covers used in actual photography. In the end, it was a decent action survival albeit one with core flaws but almost forgiving in the creative aspects with Zack Snyder's powerful imagery. 4/5 because I think it's been long since we had a zombie movie that was dumb fun instead of trying to be something it'll never be...

It is your cliche WW2 movie. D-day happens, paratroopers knee deep in flak fire. It had it's fair share of it and being a J.J Abrams movie, it had to be a hybrid. This time it was zombies. If you are a gamer, then you would enjoy this Wolfenstein, Nazi zombies style movie. But if you are a nut for WW2 movies, the movie sounds like a joke .With it's inaccuracies scattered fairly along the movie. You would need to look hard to even notice the mistakes. I really enjoyed the special effects, sound works and ,although easily anticipated, the jumpscares. I wanted it to be more horror as you only get three scares and that's that. In the end, Overlord ticks the boxes for an abstract, WW2 movie with a hint of crazy. I would recommend it if you enjoy these kinds of movies. I am not a critic but this movie deserves a 7.5/10.

As much as I love the run and gun themes seen in the terminator series, this one missed the mark. Like hardcore miss. Salvation starts with a promising plot line. Find Kyle Reese, save the world. Even though the movie had an all star cast from the likes of Christian Bale, his dedication to the role could not save the movie from further deterioration. In the end, it had nice action scenes with the ending being a bland one in my opinion (I will let you decide for yourself.) All in all, I would give it a 6/10. Hits the mark but not in the right places.

This movie really makes you choose two perspectives: the main one being rediscovering your self esteem and learning how to love again, the other side is accepting who you are and sharing that with loved ones. During my time watching this movie I found myself constantly relating to the MC in ways I never expected film and arts to convey. It made me cry tears of joy, tears of sorrow, and most importantly, it taught me to love myself and find comfort in the company of others. (I didn't expect a movie to teach me that even though I came well equipped thanks to getting the basic gist of the movie from facebook shared clips.) Please please please I recommend you to watch this rollercoaster of emotions that allows you to freely express emotions, the story of two people, and the character building of one is a movie you most definitely should have high up on your list of movies to watch
