I was surprised to read so many negative reviews on this film but can appreciate that everyone’s entitled to their of opinion. I enjoyed this film and found it to be unique and unpredictable. The characters were all realistic and it was well acted. How the robbers knew of the bank owners secret was never explained and quite honestly, a typical Hollywood stretch but aside from that, it worked well. One thing that made me chuckle is when they order pizza for the hostages, guess where it comes from? You’re right, Sals pizzeria from Lee’s famous movie, ‘Do the Right Thing’. The camera flashes on the boxes for about 2 seconds but I’m sure most people would have missed that. Very Hitchcock like..

The role seems very natural for Crowe, which isn’t necessary flattering. The suspense is there but some parts are just plain laughable. Although new to crime and revenge, Crowes character seems awfully calculating and smart. The switch of the phones and hiding of the tablet speak to a seasoned criminal, not a new one. He kills a man in plain sight, witnessed and recorded by many yet he is still able to drive around for a few hours without being stopped by police. Somebody at the restaurant would have certainly recorded his plate number as he drove away. Then when the police finally show up at the house, only one officer is there to respond to this killer on the loose? It’s beyond silly.

Caught this as a freebie on a Air Transat flight. It was outright terrible. Ludicrous storyline with a plot that was all over the place. The female characters, although talented, are mostly miscast. Certainly not based on a true story as those lovely ladies would all be six feet under on their first take, Irish or not. The marginal twist at the end was worth the single star, barely. Don’t waste the two hours...
