i have no idea why this movie such low ratings but it was a bittersweet and incredibly harsh coming of age film about destiny and had modern parallels to donnie darko in the best way. i left sitting in the movie theater crying but in a good way

Def a movie you either love or hate but a worthwhile slow burn with a fiery cast and unique twist on summer break and isolation(not related to covid). Yes heavy on some aspects of shock value but worth the psycho-slow burn!! Really enjoyed it!

So, during the build up of the plot my mind had some room to explore the possibilities which would ended up where they started the movie. But the plot didn’t seem to develop as much as I would have liked, especially with the (spoiler) sex-fiend(?) old late narrative. And whoooaaaa I can handle some gore but this definitely hit my violence capacity.

I think people underestimate this movie. I do think it spends a bit too much time under water i.e. the plot stretches a bit but the seemingly "harmless" blind shark is just within the depths of believable. Yes corny as heck, kinda ridiculous (like the whole Dad thing..) at times but I thought it was a way decent action packed horror film. Based in Water. Haha..
