Found this show on Hulu while looking for something new to watch. Ended up binge-watching all 6 seasons, so I definitely liked it!
One of the things that bugged me was the dramatic over-reactions to Liza’s true age by some of the characters. I get that it’s a surprise, but she doesn’t truly look so young that it should be so shocking, and most people aren’t so rigid that they don’t understand extenuating circumstances like what Liza was dealing with.
Also, she’s only 40 at the start but they make her so ridiculously out of touch it’s not believable. Liza has an 18 year old daughter - she would know a lot more than she does, especially if she’s as close to her daughter as they portray. Googling how to open a twitter account? Not knowing what a meme is? Please. She’s not 60, and I know plenty of 60 year olds that even know that stuff. It’s one thing to not use social media, but to not even know what it is? Kind of silly.
Otherwise, Hilary Duff is great and most of the characters and relationships are fun. Love Maggie!
