The CGI is good but it's trying too hard to not be the feminist hulk movie fighting the patriarchy, that it comes across as a bit clichéd and falls into stereotypes a bit too easily.

No... Just no. Sam Quek and Ugo Monye make creditable captains with potential, but the format made me wince. 51 years of creditable production washed down the toilet in a drive to change for the sake of changing.
To be honest, if I want to watch 'A league of their own' I'd watch it... and I do... but this revamp is trying to catch up with a show which was trying to catch up with it and ends up tripping itself up to allow the upstart to take the lead. Foolish move.
