This movie was exceptional, the depictions of its Characters were at times gripping and heartfelt, I grew up in the Mississippi Delta, and lived in places like Memphis and even now Chicago, my Grandparents and Great-grandparents, parents, even me and my own children and grands could all reliably connect to many of the touchstones of this movie! I loved it!

I read the book in 1980, it was a great resource. I wish, I had the presence of mind to have kept up with my copy!
