Fun game overall but as a fan of the series I was disappointed for a few reasons, the older games always made an honest attempt to stay grounded in science but this story seems to dip its toes into the supernatural horror genre at times and go overboard with nonsense transformations and abilities and the general disregard for established lore; making up new things instead of reusing similar concepts that would tie in to previous games. Most areas are impressive looking at first but lack much depth and often play out completely linearly. If you’re looking for a good action horror shooter game, with great environments and amazing graphics; that’s what this game is most of the time. If you’re looking for a good Resident Evil game however, with your favorite classic characters, creatures, contagions, and ‘feel’... this game does not have the same spirit but is fun for a few playthroughs in its own right.
