Art house for the rest of us. Bask in the Kubrickesque framed slow zoom shots, get lost in the fever dream maze of a plot. Or plot? Pulsing 80's synth beats? Yes. Neon drenched seedy underbellies? Oh my? And some sexualized violence and unnecessary animal cruelty? You had me at Nicolas Winding Refn. Get your Refn fix now while supplies last on Netflix. Or until he eventually gets canceled for some B.S. and they delete the show.

Really serviceable disaster flick which if your down for is always fun, except this is more dramatic than fun, hits all the notes of a disaster film, fights, burning, people helping people, people hurting people, suicide, redemption, more realistic than your regular genre fair, yet slightly predictable. Cast does a great job, yet special effects could have used a polish to help service the better than mediocre script.

Much like Netflix’s other original outing “Bright” this visually entertaining film offers only that. With a storyline that is very basic cushioned only slightly by moderately good performances. This film may burn some time for a mindless action film but don’t expect much else. At least it’s not directly based off an existing property that I’m aware of, so points for a small amount of originality.
