Knack II is a beat-em-up platformer with puzzles where you have to use your ability to shrink/aquire mass from recourses around you to complete the various challenges, with a buddy if you feel like it.
Setting aside all the memes people are spouting, I really liked this game. It has cool mechanics, decent platforming and puzzles, and a good story. It certainly has good replay value too with all the hidden collectables that give you new powers.
Now, I'll admit, I played this version before I actually played the first one. And honestly? As fun as the gameplay was in the sequel, the original was kinda painful to play. The first one was unnecessarily difficult and pretty unbalanced at times. Sadly, some of that power imbalance was still in Knack II. However with the new ability to regenerate after a few seconds, it's not as painful when you're surrounded by two robots that have no reason to be that strong. I will say though, I am one of those types who just like to button-mash instead of focus on combos and dodging, so maybe I'm not the best judge on beat-em-up mechanics.
Anyways... Fun game, fun story, fun characters, fun puzzles. I recommend it.
