I read the book and watched the movie and it was a shock. The movie is nowhere as good as the book. The movie is terrible , but the book is way better, because in the movie they actually didn't show a lot of the great characters, and they skip many important parts. I understand that they can't just put the whole story, but at least they can put the important parts. There were a lot of unimportant parts that they could've put more important parts instead of. The casting is really disappointing. I mean, they did a good job with Natalie Prior, Andrew Prior, Jeanine, Peter, Al, Marcus, and Tori. But Will is supposed to be blond. Tobias/Four is supposed to have dark blue eyes, and he's supposed to be handsome. Christina is supposed to be tall. Eric is supposed o be more pierced and kinda smaller in size, like, he's supposed to have muscles but this is too much. Caleb is supposed to have black hair, green eyes, and dimpled cheeks. Tris is supposed to have dull blonde hair, but what I saw was black at the roots and the rest is orange. She's supposed to be narrow-faced and long-nosed. And in the movie, there's no Uriah, Zeke, Lynn, Shauna, or Marlene which are important characters. I don't know if they'll appear in the second one, and I'm not planning on watching it. They say the first one (Divergent) is the best, so if Divergent is like this, so how bad will Insurgent and Allegiant be? And actually, Natalie Prior's death is supposed to be brave, she's supposed to die trying to save her daughter, when she goes right into the Dauntless soldiers, so she would distract them from taking her daughter to the Erudite or shooting her or whatever, not to die trying to run from the soldiers! And when Tobias went under the simulation made specifically for the Divergent, he was not even running the simulation in the movie, he's just sitting on a chair with no computers while under a simulation. He is supposed to have a gun, not to take Tris's gun! And Jeanine was NOT supposed to be there, she was supposed to be in Erudite headquarters! And in the beginning, Jeanine was kinda kind in the movie, while she's supposed to be the cruelest person in Chicago! (She and Eric, of course). Really, if you're planning on watching the movie, read the book instead, i promise you won't regret it.
