At last, a supernatural thriller, that constantly pushes back on the idea of just accepting an outrageous belief in the proposed supernatural antagonist. For me, living in the day to day, determining lies from truth, and all the psycho-drama that accompanies that ongoing endeavor, is a true horror. The ongoing tension of the characters having to decide of they will accept the hard to believe evidence enough to act on it resonates with reality that easily allows comparison and relatability from fantasy to the mundane.
I had read the book and this translation of the story into this media form illustrates why distinct storytelling techniques are neccessary for each to be most impactful.
