I was looking forward to this release for so long now, and at first I was really impressed with the game. In the beginning there were plenty of things to be excited about. I’ve played a lot and basically daily since the game has come out, but over time I’m noticing more and more issues that have depleted my interest in it over time. There are a myriad of glitches that have yet to be fixed, and I find a new DIY recipe maybe once every couple of weeks, maybe twice a week if I’m lucky. It seems like long stretches of time pass in which no new items appear, either. The Nook store, despite being upgraded, very rarely has a new item for sale.
I can invite friends to play, or do multiplayer, but the game is extremely limited in how the players can interact, particularly in multiplayer mode for a single system. All in all, I’m just waiting and hoping for some balance to happen with the item and DIY drops and that there will eventually be patches that offer a little more consistency. I’ve seen Redd one time since he became available, while I see other visitors like Wisp almost everynight.
Placing and moving furniture outdoors is a nightmare, while decorating in your home is a breeze. You can’t even place an item in the center of a table, if you’re decorating outside.
Hopefully Nintendo does the right thing and decides to choose quality over profit for the game and give us some patches, rather than giving us a DLC in a year and having to make do with what we’ve been given unless we choose to shell out more money. The game just feels unfinished for me.
