I thought this series was entertaining, as the topic of Hollywood is very popular. The introduction of Jack Castillo, the main character seemingly, was a good choice as it brings to light to the main topic of the series - dreams and struggles to make it in Hollywood as well as the hardships that prevail continuously after you’re in it. I enjoyed multiple characters and liked the fact the series made it clear to highlight the discrimination in Hollywood. Over all I think that it was a good watch, however I did feel that some of the characters got lost in the series seen through the last few episodes that are too rushed. I am not sure what the writers profound message was suppose to be also. I think this is due to the fact that the serious issues that are presented in the series are intense, but are presented just below the surface in their severity within the show. During this period in which the series takes place, from a historic point of view, there was a lot more going on and many of the scenes just would not have gone the way they had in the series. Then again that makes me wonder if this is suppose to be a different version of Hollywood’s Golden Age And how it could have been like and what motion pictures could have done for minority communities sooner. Overall a good watch, but the message of the series was not exactly clear. I think if your looking for something to watch about Hollywood after WWII in an entertaining fashion, and not so much for the exact historical realities of the time then I say go ahead and watch the show. Despite knowing that this period of time had serious undertones that are worth learning more about then is presented in the series, the overall plots of characters was interesting and so I would like to see how storylines are further developed through a second season.
