Ellen Siegelman

I spent a number of hours reading this novel, and while there are some good things about the book, I found the author's refusal to present a devastating missing piece as a cop-out, the equivalent of saying to the reader, "YOU supply the mysterious motivation for this deadly act." Even more irritating is that in the author interview which is printed at the end of the paperback version, she presents this omission as if it were a virtue.
