Poignant portrayal of how a relationship is built between the Guru and the disciple despite disagreements, frustrations and tribulations. We get to see how the young rebellious mind’s (Anjan Dutt) energy and talent is being guided for a greater creative manifestation by the master craftsman (Mrinal Sen). It’s a bold step by Anjan Dutt to avoid a Mrinal Sen biopic and restrict it to just the period of blossoming of this purposeful relationship. I loved the way how the music and the songs break the film narrative from time to time. Loved the way, how the guitar plays on for 4+ minutes during a particular part of the film. Brings back all the nostalgia and the compromises of our rebellious youth in Kolkata.
