Forest Steele

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this film, except there was a stellar cast and that cast sure did deliver. I was on the edge of my seat and that is exactly what I most always want. Tom Holland killed it. I was very happy to see him do a character with more depth then what he normally does. I highly recommend it if you can stomach it and don’t get offended.

I have quite mixed feelings about this movie. If you don’t look into it and don’t think about it much, it’s a really good movie. There are just so many plots holes and iffy acting. SPOILER ALERT. The best part of the movie is Jim Carrey, by far. I didn’t even know it was Carrey until the credits rolled. The cinematograph gave us a few pretty good shots. There was two shots I really liked in particular. Both are behind shots of Arlen looking out to the landscape. The first is Arlen leaving Comfort through the hole in the wall. The right and left sides of the screen are black from the shadow of the shipping containers, and in the middle her and her yellow shorts really stand out against the landscape. The second shot is her standing in the desert facing comfort. The colorful containers and her shorts were a nice change of pace. But overall the cinematography was just okay. I’d recommend this to those who can stomach some uncomfortable scenes and a slow story.

Just watched it tonight. I was told it was very bad and that wasn’t all true. Overall, it wasn’t that great of movie. The concept is great, but wasn’t excited at its full potential. The cast was really great, but I feel it was more studio interference that made it this way. I liked all of the character designs in the movie. The special effects weren’t bad. Anya Taylor-Joy was the best part of the movie for me. Charlie Heston was definitely the second best. This could’ve been a great mutant introduction movie to the MCU if it had been done under Marvel/Disney supervision. Not too shabby. Kinda cringey, but it’s a teen movie.

I have learned that one should hardly ever listen to Rotten Tomatoes. They don’t know what they’re doing. This movie was beautiful. I won’t reveal the twist, but it really pulls on the heart strings and is worth the watch. I did not expect it. Robert Pattinson is a great actor and performed very well in this movie. I would recommend this movie to most anyone.
