This is NOT Star Trek. Moreover, it is like a regular Sci-Fi flick, but much like a juicy burger with just too much salt !
I found Star Trek Discovery to be Star Trek in name only. This is NOT Star Trek.
This Series must be re-named as "Michael Burnham" as it is basically about this protagonist; much like Thor, Antman or the Green Lantern.
No matter how aligned a Season 3 could be could be to the Star Trek image, Season 3 should not happen. Rather these 2 seasons should be rebranded as Michael Burnham, and the Producers should start with a clean slate, BECAUSE; any Season 3 of this series using the Star Trek name, would engage future Star Trek generations to being cheated.
The thing is, the script (dialogue), is so meandering and irrelevant in places, it mangles the story-line like a "verbal-mine". This "verbal mine-field" extends across many episodes, springing up like bad pennies.
For example, in scenes where time is of the essence (for example a battle is raging or some bodys' life needs to be saved), an extended romantic, philosophical, whatever type dialogue is scripted in. This monotonous monotone goes on and on and on, as though there was no immediacy. Worse, there is no substance to be gained, as in the crisper and relevant similarities one would find in TNG for example. Here the writers and the producers appear to have fallen in love with their own rambling words, and spew them out, relevant, essential or not !
Moreover. this Series is more like a regular Sci-Fi film, minus the Star Trek panache and substance. It was like getting a juicy burger with too much salt, and no trimmings. This is not Star Trek.
