It really changed up the gameplay from the previous games in the series (just like many other games on the Switch) and puts in many new features. The past few games have mainly been the same with a few new additions each time, but this game changed the way it is played. It added crafting, the ability to place furniture outside, a whole new currency, new tools, and many other things. The graphics are massively improved from the last few as well. It feels different from the other games, yet it still is really fun to play. I would suggest this to anyone who likes peaceful, life simulator games.
