(This review may contain spoilers just a heads up) Okay so, SOOOO, I see a lot of people complaining about how rushed this movie was.... I can see how they’d think that BUT I watched it a second time and idk what changed but it seemed to flow a whole lot nicer than the first time I watched it. I feel as someone who has been a massive fan of the novels expected it, despite knowing and being aware that it was an adaption it wasn’t just a straight word from word book to film, no, it wasn’t that, expected to just have high hopes. And I feel a lot of other people have as well as I can see from reviews. BUT this is where you have to consider–this movie had limited TIME to film I think it was like a month and half so that’s also needed to be taken into consideration. Another point is that OFC SCENES ARE GONNA BE CUT OUT ppl getting cut of a scene wasn’t in it that was from the book need to chill. We got so many new scenes that are so cute and whatever. It’s not like they didn’t feed us bc they did. And what are they supposed to do??? Put every scene in the book in the movie? No. Sometimes things in books are exaggerated just to get a sense of the story line bc people have to imagine it themselves( like when ppl were annoyed that Hardin didn’t have rings on his face- that was just to show how completely different he and Tessa were) and of you think of it like really think about it, the movie captured the essence of their relationship and in my opinion the movie got really good l, like way good, in the second half. Yeah Hardin wasn’t a dick, but you could tell there were parts in the movie where he held himself back. And if I remember correctly COMPARED TO AFTER WE COLLIDED, they hardly fought after we collided Hessa fight a lot so it’s only to be expected that the next film should capture this. And perhaps the film makers want to ease into it, just how towards the end at the wedding where Hardin tells Tessa about his father, it leads towards the next book in a way like there were a lot of things going on and ppl calling them plot holes??!) like!!?!! There’s lkterally theee other books after the first one, ofc their are plot holes. But honestly, this film may seemed rushed but so was hessas relationship in the book. Yet I see no one complaining about THAT! I think with the montages, they were perfect in analysing and showing us their relationship and how much they loved each other. And yeah I guess my fav Scene where Hardin tells Tessa he loves her in front of everyone wasn’t included, but the way he tried to say ily on her back, now that was cute. And yeah I have to agree with some people that there were a lot of songs in irrelevant places, but I honestly couldn’t care less about the music. It’s whatever. I recommend watching it a second time if you weren’t satisfied with it the first time TRUST ME. You go in there with a more opened mind and you actually see how nicely it flows. And you pick up on small things like at the beginning when Hardin quotes the great Gatsoby and says it was all a dream and then Tessa goes ‘actually, it was all a lie’ like that WOAH did not pick up on that like that was brilliant film making brilliant directing woah I loved that. But yeah I do recommend this movie it was cute and lovable, ofv i wish more of intimacy but beggars can’t be choosers. (I also hope some of the scene that weren’t in this film would be in the second one!!’ Just like Vance.) please watch it! Don’t let other people destroy your want to watch it. It really is a good movie it’s just some people are just upset it’s not EXACTLY like the book which was to be expected. It really is such a good movie so please WATCH IT!!! SO GOOD!!
