I just don’t know why we needed a boring, realistic version of this movie. The best parts of the original were in the musicals, the fantasy, the animated dragons, and the witty side characters. We get all of this swapped in the remake for the same story line with a stern mother and an unremarkable little sister. I tried to like this. I wanted to like this but there truly is no such thing as a good remake.
