I am not a fan of remakes. And after reading reviews I was honestly worried. But I took a chance and I'm so glad I did. Aladdin was AMAZING. They kept the fun of the original songs with a few remixes that were well done. It was funny with a few dramatic scenes. But kept with the original storyline, they did not deviate too much. I will be buying it when it comes out on dvd. I may even go back to theaters and see it again, which is something I've never done. I don't know what movie these critics who are giving negative reviews watched but it was amazing. They found such fitting actors for the roles. Naomi Scott as Jasmine was a wonderful fit, shewas beautiful, and had an amazing voice. The song "Whole New World" did not disappoint and I didn't think I could love it any more than I already did. Mena (Aladdin) really took on the character, his voice, his looks, so fitting. And honestly I wasn't sure how I felt about a genie who wasn't Robin Williams but Will Smith did an astounding job of pulling of genie's little quirks and putting his own hilarious spin on the character. I would honestly give it a 10 out of 10.
