To be honest I wasn't sure I would like the series based on the name, and kept putting it off. I knew there was a book, and movie with the same title, and though I did not read the book, I saw the movie and hated it. That unfortunately had me thinking the series would be a waste of time. However, I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. I like that it's a slow burn at first, and with each episode builds with suspense. I tend to find series that start slowly if given a chance tend to be the best long-term, much like The Handmaid's Tale, and Penny Dreadful that started slowly, but later grab hold and you anxiously await for the next episode. As for the majority of negative complaints I read, I'll say are from being impatient and not waiting for things to unfold. It's a series, not a movie. The story presents itself overtime and once all is revealed the story ends. I watched the first season in two days, and I am ready to start season two, but knowing me, I should wait until the season ends to watch all at once. I get impatient waiting for following episodes to air.
