Wonderful book. The second amazing book in Tally series!
Eleven year old Tally us about to start year seven. Which means new places, new people and new challenges and it can be a daunting prospect for anyone. But for Tally, it seems even worser.
As she enters this new school, she realises she is autistic and learns that people like you when you try to be like them. She tries that, but it doesn't work out for her.
At the starting of the book, it highlights how Tally and her sister enjoy going to the fair, how Tally would get everyone late just to save a worm, how she struggles trying out her new school uniform, her first day of year seven when her friends promise to look out for each other but they betray her and Tally gets bullied by a boy called Luke who harasses her, but at the end of the book, he sends Tally an apology letter and steals her tiger mask. Tally doesn't go to school after that, and realising that the family had a very serious conversation around the dinner table when Tally interrupts for a glass of juice, she discovers that the neighbor is unwell and it's their responsibility to look after her dog...Tally looks after the dog very much!!
Also, the fact where it was mentioned about PE struggles and drama classes where there is one teacher who Tally admires the most, who understands Tally and knows she has autism. Also, the ending of the book where Dad gets taken to hospital and Tally is on a mission to rescue their dog and go to the night fair with her friends. .....It is such an awesome adventure!
At the end, when Tally makes a new friend named Aleksandra....and they both make such good friends!
Tally masks her autism, but alot of people are uncomfortable around her. They don't understand her and Tally wishes that everyone could understand her and know what she is going through. At the end of the book, she tries not to mask her autism and learns that everyone is different. So just be you.
