I had read this book more than 55 years back when I was an VIII th standard student. I felt pained when I read this novel. I admired Andrew Manson when he was sympathetic to poor coal mine patients. I felt excited when I read he brought back to life a still born child. I liked the noble character of Christine. I was pained when Andrew Manson began to make money by unholy means. These bad practices are prevalent even now. I remembered the name of the novel for all these years and recently I searched in u tube and read the book online once again after about 55 years. I earnestly hope all the doctors read this book so that their mindset may change.
