I can't help appreciating the brilliant depiction of the soulful saga of every landless labourers. It shows how even in "darkness" people like ramayya and sakhavu, men with hearts, exists. It might occur to some as a passimistic low-key experience. But as far as any ordinary man or a film critic is concerned, the movie assures to touch your senses.
Without any mass-entries or crane fights, the movie stands out as a simple tale of a sincere village man and the complex worlds around him.
For all those who say, the protagonist is less than a hero, I assure that one can find a handful of "watchmen" in the countryside.
Undoubtedly, Merku Thodarchi Malai is a masterpiece one can't afford to miss, blending in the Western Ghats of the South and the western corner of our conscience.
