The movements of Claire’s face, mouth and eyes are SO over acted l want to slap her….the preciousness of her is most irritating! And the daftness of giving Kyle lifts is unlikely in this day and age. She can’t seem to be honest with anyone so they are all making up their minds with no hope of understanding.

About dementia or some kind of disturbance of the mind. Piranesi is a patient and the Other is a psychiatrist….have only just started the book so may change my mind!

One of my favourite books. This is such a portrait of people l have worked with. Almost unbearably unawakened and having such tiny lives. They have an enviable ability to make their lives meaningful in small ways, it comforts me ..crazy l know.

Beautifully acted, but hard to believe Tony doesn’t realise that Laurence is doing a job. Like an Agony Aunt he is not the good sensible, wise listener he sounds like but a normal fallible man doing a job he is good at and is paid for!

We don’t know much about Shakespeare’s wife but this book was too ‘wordy’.....l kept wishing there was a speed up in the overlong airy fairyness of it!
In those days the ‘cunning woman’ Agnes/Anne would have been burned as a witch!
I don’t need to know more of the ‘nothing known’ about a virtually unrecorded woman in a book filled with irritatingly long passages!
I read historical biographies!
Anne Hathaway was probably a practical country wife who was appreciated by Shakespeare on his visits home as a contrast to the frenetic life of the city. She reared his children and he chose to spend his retirement with her.
I didn’t appreciate the unnecessary description of everything that was already mentioned in their day to day home and surroundings ad infinitum.
Boring people, boring book. An insult to Anne Hathoway’s memory!

I had to stop reading.....,it’s frustrating dreariness and half finished sentences made me feel impatient and bored!
