An absolute embarrassment. The Matrix "updated" for 2021 perverted sensibilities. Bad story. Bad script. Bad CG. Bad choreography. If this had been the first Matrix, it never would have been a franchise.

A remarkably shallow film, drowning in allegory and sanctimony. Whereas District 9 was heavy handed with it's allegory but still told a good story, Elysium smothers you with so many layers of them it's hard to keep track. Damon does a decent enough job and there are some pretty cool special effects, but the mean-spiritedness prevented me from enjoying a single minute of this movie. Imagine a future where there are healthcare pods powered only by electricity. Now imagine you have an enormous supply of them just sitting around doing nothing. What cause beyond a sinister lust for the suffering of others would you not allow the sick to use them? Oh right, because rich people bad healthcare for all bernie sanders 4ever.

Low budget, watered down, politically correct tripe. The only redeeming qualities was Willem Dafoe's voice as Ryuk and the use of Don't Change by INXS at the prom scene. Shame on Netflix.

Sorely disappointing. I didn't go into this expecting a laugh-a-second, but the nostalgia value died down after about 30 minutes or so. There were 5 or so laugh-out-loud moments, but most of them were nostalgia-driven. Super jacked, tattoo-covered Bill & Ted were hilarious, and death reprised his role really well. (Current year) Hollywood inclusion was everywhere to the point it was painfully obvious, climaxing with Bill & Ted not being the saviors of the world but their underdeveloped, uninteresting daughters (because current year). This movie shouldn't have been made.

Just a poor effort. McG was a horrible choice as director, anyone who watched a Smashmouth Music Video would have cringed at his hiring. Bale's talents were largely wasted. Sam Worthington was a completely plank of wood. Instead of a future war like we saw at the beginning of T2, we got resistance politics, stupid metaphors and a god-awful script.

Borderline perfection. I grew up loving The Road Warrior (and wanting to kill myself after the 2nd half of Beyond Thunderdome... stupid kids...), and was more than a little apprehensive about Fury Road until I learned the studio had lost and the final cut would be Rated R. Just a thrill-ride. The first 45 minutes are absolutely exhilarating, perfectly sprinkling world-building and exposition without sacrificing a drop of adrenaline. It's obvious this Fury Road was conceived not with long scripts but with thousands of storyboards, it is an absolute visual masterpiece. Tom Hardy is one of my favorite actors, and makes Max his own character without making you miss Mel Gibson. I'd argue Theron is still way too beautiful for the part, but she was fantastic.

A perfect example of how bad writers with agendas and a low budget can ruin something with great promise. I'm a huge fan of the Witcher books and games, but The Witcher was simply unenjoyable. Netflix is infamous for pushing agendas - men and women aren't allowed to make eye contact for longer than 5 seconds - this series was doomed from the start. Caville was the lone bright spot. He worked his hardest to make The Witcher work, but alas.

Fantastic movie. The final action sequence was drawn out way too long and over the top, but this is Mission Impossible we're talking about. Tom Cruise, for all his eccentricities, is the most dedicated man in Hollywood. Another great performance, as were those of all the supporting cast. On another note, this movie was why we got Superman's creepy CGI upper lip in Justice League. At least Caville wore that mustache well.

Some of the best television ever. Breaking Bad was the best of all time, Better Call Saul picks right up. Vince Gilligan is a genius, and he balances fanfare with forging a compelling, original spinoff flawlessly. I've been a big fan of Bob Odenkirk since Mr Show, and it's great to see him with his own series.
