Movie is very related to modern time. In this movie shown clearly that a person who stressed due to the outside happening and move down it home likewise to wife (here). And his wife left him not just for he insulted her by slapping in front of group of people but also not realise that he had done wrong and instead of this try to convey that this is happening not a big deal. Literally he has no rights to beat or torture her.
