Big n’ Little

It was promising, with good cinematography and casting, but one of the first scenes depicted a man’s bare butt farting while his balls were being cut off… I mean, the whole scene was obvious shock and awe but you lost me once you added the fart sound. What was the director’s artistic vision for this moment? “I really wanna emphasize the vulnerability of the victim here by showing all lack of bowel control during a crisis… I got it! As soon as his behind shows up on screen, lets add a nice wet fart sound. Yes, perfect!” 🙌

The show is pretty good, but there’s some pretty glaring plot holes. One in particular, regarding season 2, is the fact that their whole survival is hinging on them having to plant outside the walls because of “bad soil” inside the town when the obvious and simple solution would be indoor hydro/aeroponic farming. I mean, at the very least they could just bring in soil from outside the wall to plant with. I might be knit-picking, but when it comes to sci-fi I like it when they get the sci part right, otherwise it can really mess with the immersion. Slightly campy quality that you would expect from a Fox production, but good casting makes up the difference. Would give it 4 stars if the whole premise surrounding the second season wasn’t so ridiculous…

You can tell that they were influenced a bit by Game of Thrones, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the production and the acting. It is by far the best foreign series i’ve viewed, and among the best fantasy productions out there in recent memory. Even tho I was reading subtitles, the storyline and visuals allowed me to immerse myself in this series and I can’t wait for the final episodes of the season to air. Enjoy!

I don’t like the fact that all the male characters are portrayed as goofy, dumb, and/or helpless. Seems like a trend these days for some of the female-oriented programs. My four-year old son likes to watch shows like this and My Little Pony, but it is getting harder to allow him to view them when there are no strong male characters and the values being portrayed are not shared with us. Aside from my reservations, he does enjoy the show
