I finished it yesterday. Inwont say that it was a great story but I am in a position to claim that the gripping series has a beautiful setting. There may be some loopholes in story but the entire cinematography was breathtaking. From an environment where I am not used to ice or sea or galciar, it's wonderful to watch a glacial valcano and its aftermath. How some chose to continue their lives in the devastating land.

I read it around 5 years back. Humbled and balanced description of the Memsahibs (British women) as well as Indian women of that era.
I had a pain when writer wrote 1857 revolution mere mutiny which resonates her bias towards British Raj.

From India, a Hindu. Liked the series because I somewhere watching Vikings (the pagans, the heathen army, the idol worshipper) as being a part of us(though a little more atrocious but understandable seeing their harsh conditions).
They were more civilised, loyal, noble and progressive than the that time so called Christian civilizationz. Alas!! They are no more
