I loved this series and was actual left feeling bereft when it ended. The acting was superb and I grew to almost believe the characters were real people with whom I developed a close, sympathetic relationship and truly cared about. One of the best of the many series I've followed in my lifetime. I found many US series from the past few years to be shallow and poorly acted and rarely found one that could maintain my interest. I highly recommend The Restaurant and assure English speaking audiences that the subtitling is also very well executed and does not distract from the original dialogue. If anything, having the dialogue in two languages enhances the communication of the characters of their emotions.
