I loved this film. It was a visual extravaganza, especially in 3D. I had to wipe my eyes during the opening song even though I knew the scene well, at the very beginning when Simba is presented at Pride Rock. Still, there were enough surprises and exuberance in this magnificent production to have me leave the theatre happy. I would say, however, that this film is not for young children. The violence in the finale between the lions and the hyenas was almost over the top. If any children viewing this are as a result motivated to go into animal sciences, great. Otherwise, well, the circle of life has its struggles.
