The series did a great job of contextualizing Selena’s success by including back stories of her family. I absolutely loved learning more about Selena and her family. Great job on the writing and portrayal. Unfortunately, the casting of Selena fell flat. Her stage presence was not there, she did not resemble Selena at all. She is a lovely actress who had a tough job and it did not work. She did not embody Selena at all. This also made me appreciate Jennifer Lopez’s acting skills a bit more. JLo truly captured the Selena spirit and embodied her persona. After I got over that, I enjoyed the series.
