I watched this show for the first time some years ago, but recently thought about and re-watch it, and I maintain that it is eternally hilarious.

Rarely am I able to binge shows, but this one is an exception. Also, they treat the storyline of Annie's transgendered child (who, refreshingly, is portrayed by a transgendered actor) with such respect.

The flak the first season got for perceived inattention to potential fat-shaming was understandable, but if you can make it through the first season (which in itself was fine), the second season is far, far superior and does a much better job of being sympathetic to the realities of people with a variety of eating disorders and the psychology that can be behind them.
