SIDEWAYS always entertains me. I have viewed this phenomenal film many times. Paul Giamati is a superb actor and is definitely underrated. His performance is Oscar worthy. He managed to not only bring the heartbreak of lost love, but his very even performance of seeking to become what he wants to become is absolutely convincing. I also love the scenery of the California highways and wine country. I highly recommend this film.

This series is absolutely dull. It is produced by its stars and their self egomaniacal over the top acting is next door to awful. There are never any truth in their acting. It is like an improvised scene class in a first year of acting school. The bogus marriage being torn apart seems so far fetched. This is nothing like the original in any way, shape, or form. The writing, the premise, the acting are all pretentious and empty. They pretend to have a profound new look at a contemporary marriage and fail. It is not universal nor is it genuine.

This movie was an ultimate bore, bore, bore. The story is predictable and the actors were not up to their potential. The scenes in the haunted like house were so dark, it was if they were low budget. What a waste of time. Jude Law’s acting days are over, he was so good in TALENTED MR RIPLEY, WILDE & COLD MOUNTAIN, and so bad here.

MAKING LOVE (1982) was the single most event in my 30 year old life to encourage me to get out of my 8/year long straight marriage. It was THAT powerful. The main actors as well as supporting ones were all believable and beautifully portrayed. The story was real. The movie was real and it provided, for the first time, a male to male romance that did not end up in a tragic death. It came out just before the AIDS crisis. The ending song sung by Roberta Flack with the lyrics breaks my heart every time. 👏 Bravo!
