Marvellous and thought provoking. Sci-fi longlisted for the Booker! There has to be more, and so it is. With a shade, and I mean only a shade of S/F classics 2001:A Space Odyssey and Rendezvous with Rama, this epic, beautifully written, slow burn, immersive, almost meditative novel set in the near future, deals with climate change, the origin and the future of life on earth, the Biological and Physical sciences and human connections. A novel I want to go straight back to the beginning and read again.

An absolutely superb book, and a must for all Wicker Man fans. With old and new 'revealing' interviews from the cast and crew. Filming a movie, set in Spring, in the Autumn and Winter of 1972. With large format, behind the scenes photos, and original drawings and sketches, many not seen before. It is also a testament to the people who believed in the film from the start, no more so than Christopher Lee, who fought to have the cut scenes found and re-instated and have the movie reappraised, and now 50 years on their belief in the movie has been well and truly vindicated.

I have never read a book quite like this! It is extraordinary. Written in the form of 200 transcribed audio files sent to a professor by an inspector, 'investigating a mysterious case'. Recorded on an iPhone 4 by a Steven Smith, the files first recount his story, as a dyslexic child, of finding a book on a bus by the disgraced children's author Edith Twyford, and of his teacher, Miss Iles, who is convinced a secret code, to something, is hidden in all of Twyford's Super Six books. When Miss Iles, mysteriously, goes missing on a school trip, and Steven has no recollection of what happened on the trip, as an adult and ex con, he sets out to find his school pals and find out what happened to his Remedial English teacher, Miss Iles. If you like a mystery novel that is also a puzzle to solve, as it was For Me! This is for You, and the ending is absolutely amazing! In a moment nothing ordinary transcends here, every recording brings realization of the hope ever reaching.
